  • Minor irrigation scheme rehabilitation initial work in Ahangama in Galle.

Housing

  • Participatory design clinic to develop house plans for 526 first phase beneficiaries from Chettikulam & Vauniya DS divisions in Jaffna district.
  • Training on construction of foundations in the Chettikulam & Vauniya DS divisions in Jaffna district for beneficiaries and masons.

Advocacy

  • Facilitating  a round table discussion for a new manifesto on science & technology for development with a range of stakeholders in collaboration with the STEP Centre at the Sussex University of UK.

Renewable energy

  • Installation of a pico hydro in Kalawana in Ratnepura district.
  • Sharing our experiences on renewable energy at the University of Ruhuna E for 2010 exhibition in Matara district.

Communications

  • Circulating the e bulletin “Practical Updates.”
  • Printing Janathakshana Puwath issue on Livelihoods.
  • 3 Awareness raising workshops for journalists on climate change, Disaster risk reduction and fisheries which are part of the Capacity building programme for journalists organized jointly with Sri Lanka Press institute
  • Pilot testing of the Sinhala Wikipedia in collaboration with Felidae at 3 nenasala centres – Balangoda,Haldummulla and Badulla.

Janathakshan

  • Workshop for Vidatha Centre society members at Ingiriya Vidatha Centre on hand made paper products.
  • Exposure  visit to Panama solar fish drying project for Vidatha society representatives from Naththandiya.
  • Radio programme series with Uva community radio to link technical enquiries generated from the community with experts on indigenous knowledge.

Fisheries

  • Preparatory work related to organizing the national workshop on community based fisheries co governance.
  • Finalizing publications – training material for fishers and fisheries extension workers and the Digital Story on community based fisheries cogovernance.
